Inhabit works on a wide range of A-grade international projects and our consultants help clients manage risk throughout the procurement process. Our expertise has been developed utilising our collective global façade design and engineering experience. Our Asia teams have worked on many high profile façade projects where international best practices are required.

We understand local industry standards and the differences between Asia domestic versus international quality requirements. An appreciation of risk elements with off-shore sourcing means that we are better placed to mitigate potential problems in the factory rather than on site.

One of our key strengths is that our team is capable of addressing and solving technical issues at the factory prior to allowing defective materials to be shipped to site. The most effective QA/QC procedure is a close collaboration of both technical review and checklist recording of systems and materials, and we have the skills and knowledge to deal with both requirements.

With over 20 years of on-the-ground experience in Asia, we understand the risks involved in using offshore supply chains.  Along with our multi-lingual capabilities, our QA/QC procedures can ensure strict compliance with ethics and governance policies.

Offshore supply chains provide tremendous opportunities to utilise low cost manufacturing in order to reduce building costs. In the past 10 years, the façade industry has gone through a monumental change and now a high percentage of the world’s high rise building façades are manufactured in China and SE Asia. This has meant that Chinese manufacturers have needed to adapt to international standards very quickly and improve the quality of their products to a level that is acceptable across global markets. As a result QA/QC systems need to be in place to protect builders, developers and end users.

Inhabit provides a range of services throughout China and SE Asia to support international projects requiring the offshore procurement of materials. Inhabit recognises the advantages of international procurement, in providing local markets cost and scale economies, as well as access to leading and emerging products and technologies.

However, procurement can come with risks, blind spots in international supply chains, or poor understanding by overseas designers of local market and code requirements, testing risks, limitations to fabrication quality assurance and restricted access to production program information.

By bringing in Inhabit to assist procurement teams from the early tendering phases and through to construction phase actives, we can help reduce the associated risk with international procurement help facilitate successful Direct Procurement for clients’ projects. Inhabit provides access to local designers who understand local codes but can design systems using clients’ preferred factories or assemblers and international staff training in quality production programming assurance. Our team members both locally and overseas can assist with language barriers and timely supply of information from inside factories anywhere in the world.
