XI’AN SILK ROAD INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE CENTRE

Designed by GMP Architects, the Xi’An Silk Road International Conference Centre, Shaanxi province, People’s Republic of China, was completed in 2019. The centre is a 200m x 200m x 50m box-shaped building.

The GFA of the conference center is about 191,000 sqm. It consists of a series of conference halls, grand ball rooms and multi-function rooms. The conference centre will be used for the coming “Belt and Road” Forum for International Cooperation.

The façade is a stick built steel mullion curtain wall system spanning 25m to 45m. These large spans need to accommodate large differential movements of over 200mm. This makes the façade the largest steel mullion supported curtain wall in China.

Inhabit was the façade consultant on the project and on the Xi’An Silk Road Round Table Conference Centre and Garden Hotel.
