Hongqiao Vantone SunnyWorld Centre

Part of a major sustainable masterplan this dynamic mixed-use community is centered on a 4ha public park in the heart of the Shanghai Hongqiao CBD. The scheme brings together highly efficient, flexible office buildings, with ground-level shops, restaurants and civic spaces.

For the two 43m tall office towers architects Foster + Partners designed serial horizontal, parametric fins with a variant depth from 1m to 0, which can maximize the visible light transmittance and minimize the solar heat gain. Their triangular floor plates maximise daylight and natural ventilation.

The park culminates in a landmark building which forms the end point of the development.

Inhabit’s Shanghai and London teams worked collaboratively to give the client and architect a seamless service from beginning to end.
