Currently under construction, Sky Venture is a new indoor skydiving and climbing facility in Abu Dhabi. The project, developed by Miral, will house what aims to be the world’s largest indoor skydiving experience and indoor climbing wall, CLYMB.

It is located on Yas Island, between Yas Mall, Abu Dhabi’s biggest mall and the Ferrari World Theme Park.

Visitors to the skydiving simulator will be able to mimic the experience of skydiving within a 9.75 metre (32 feet) wide wind tunnel.  At CLYMB, four climbing walls offer a challenge to all climbers from beginner to expert, the expert-level wall towering 43 meters above the ground.

The building’s form consists of a complex mega-triangle secondary skin which was developed parametrically.

Inhabit was engaged to provide façade consultancy services from concept to tender deliverables. The scope included parametric geometric design of the outer skin, including the steel sub-frame and infill materials.

The secondary skin’s final design will see 121 mega-triangles supported by 35 beams per mega triangle. This leads to a total of 4,300 steel beams of varying lengths. Inhabit developed a referencing system for the node points and beams  to assist the installation.
