NEW ACTON NISHI
Located in Australia’s capital, Canberra, New Acton Nishi is a Japanese-inspired design with timber façade sunshades.
Nishi is the third phase of the New Acton East and New Acton South mixed-use development that has already won a number of prestigious awards for sustainability, innovation and design. Nishi has a focus on attaining 8-star Nathers energy rating across its residential tenancies.
The timber specified is the hardwood Queensland Blackbutt. It has a strong visual appeal and impressive durability qualities. To help achieve uniform weathering, a Lanotec coating has been applied to the more than 42 kilometres of timber material used in the façade sunshades.
Inhabit provided façade engineering services and detailing of the timber spandrels and sunshades.
