Walyalup Koort (King’s Square) – Newman Court
The AU$270M Kings Square Renewal project will transform the heart of the port city of Fremantle, Perth, Western Australia, into a vibrant commercial and community hub. The redevelopment, which is expected to be completed in 2020, will include a new civic centre, a library and commercial office and retail space.
The AU$220M Newman Court public-private infrastructure project consists of an entire city block in Fremantle. The old Myer department store building was stripped back to its original structure, slab and columns, while the adjacent Queensgate building was totally demolished. The exisiting Henderson Street car park was refurbished with a new annex entry to Queen street. With a new façade in place, the former Myer building will house Emporium, a new urban retail, food and dining destination.
Inhabit was engaged by Sirona Capital to provide façade consulting services on the King’s Square – Newman Court Redevelopment building and is also the façade consultant on the adjacent Fremantle Civic and Administration building which forms part of the precinct.
