IFC One, Saigon
The first phase of IFC One, Saigon, a project by Viva Land, was completed in time for the Vietnam Independence Day in early September 2022. The project, formerly named Saigon One Tower, had been on hold for over a decade in a prime location of District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
The 45-storey building is a mixed-use development, with office, residential and serviced apartments above a retail podium. The new façade pattern envisioned by award winning Mply + Serie Architects was inspired by the look and feel of scales from dragon skin. The aesthetic was the focal point for the development of the triangular elements, further accentuated by the fins’ colour scheme and lighting effects.
Inhabit’s scope involved façade consulting and access and maintenance strategies.
“The team supported Viva Land and the Façade Contractor, BM Windows, in designing the complex triangulated façade and achieving the fast-paced timeline. Inhabit is also involved in the planning of the interior lighting for retail and corporate spaces, in which the dragon theme will be used to create a flowing narrative between interior and exterior, for a cohesive effect on the entire building design.”
