EMPEROR HOTEL

Designed to optimise views and privacy for each hotel suite, Hong Kong’s luxury Emperor Hotel is a contemporary and expressive piece of architecture, which creates an intentional distinction among surroundings of one of the city’s most vibrant districts.

Located between Hong Kong’s vibrant districts of Causeway Bay and Happy Valley, the hotel is the third boutique hotel of its kind for the prestigious Emperor Hotel Group. Standing at 25 storeys tall, it accommodates 275 hotel suites, and a mixture of public amenities including lounges and restaurants at the podium levels, and an open-air bar and function venue at the top level.

The building has an irregular form made up of a series of steps and triangulations with a distinctive façade. The façade design uses crisp white aluminium features, horizontally and diagonally, in contrast to black glazing to accentuate the triangulation of the building form. The podium and main entrance are made up of large clear glass walls and intricate GRC cladding feature walls.

Integrated custom built LED spot luminaires are concealed into the aluminium features to articulate the diagonal and horizontal elements, achieving elegant lighting effects and enhancing the building’s illuminated presence. The result is a contemporary and expressive piece of architecture, which creates an intentional distinction amongst surroundings of one of the city’s most vibrant districts.
