CITY WALK

The City Walk is an urban retail and restaurant precinct in central Dubai with hundreds of exclusive shops, restaurants and leisure activities set among 34 low-rise residential buildings, tree-lined avenues and a collection of contemporary street art murals.

The façades included stick curtain walls, 3D Glass Reinforced Concrete rainscreen cladding, dichroic glass fin façade, aluminium rainscreen cladding, stone rainscreen, media screen systems and canopies.

A series of retail frontages have a dichroic glass façade which changes colour depending on the angle it is viewed from and the angle of the sunlight.

Sarah Coogan“The dichroic effect is created by laminating a dichroic film between two layers of clear glass. This causes the transmitted color to be different from the reflected color because only certain light wavelengths can pass through the metal oxides fused onto the glass.”
Sarah Coogan, Regional Manager, United Arab Emirates,

Inhabit provided façade consultancy design from concept to tender. The scope included post-construction services for technical reviews and site inspections.
