City of Dreams Retail and Art Space

The Showroom City of Dreams is Melco Resorts & Entertainment’s latest addition to the City of Dreams casino resort complex in Macau.

Designed by OMA, the showroom is connected to the DFS Galleria shopping mall on the podium of the development and has more than 17,000 sq ft (1,570 sq m) of art and retail space on two levels.
City of Dreams is collaborating with Forward Fashion create a multi-dimensional art space — Artelli at The Showroom.
Inhabit provided façade consulting and lighting design for the project which has an oval skylight that consists of geometrically complex glass panels and Inhabit designed a modular system to simplify the installation of the skylight.

The Showroom features a glass wall with circular reflective pattern closely integrated with lighting features on the west elevation. The exterior design with iconic circular windows brings in natural lighting. It also appears to be transparent at night highlighting events inside the building.

“Our team, on the one hand, took an active role in sourcing and researching on the reflective patterned coating on the glazing while, on the other hand, supervised the visual mock up closely to achieve the desired visual intent. It is exciting to see this project coming to fruition because it showcases the benefits brought about by Inhabit’s uniquely cross-disciplinary team, which was key to this project’s success.”
