ALOFT CITY CENTRE DEIRA HOTEL

The 28,800m² Aloft City Centre Deira Hotel is located in the historic heart of Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The cinema-themed hotel has 304 loft-inspired rooms and suites with views of Dubai Creek and Dubai Creek golf course, as well as vistas to Downtown Dubai.

Developed by Majid Al Futtaim and designed by architects Pascal +Watson, the 14-storey hotel, which opened in June 2018, has a LEED gold rating.

Inhabit provided façade, acoustics and building maintenance unit consultancy (BMU) services including, concept and schematic design with tender documentation. At construction stage Inhabit reviewed sub-contractor technical submittals, visual mock up and site inspections.

The acoustic elements of the project presented the typical challenges found in bustling city centres. The Dubai Municipality guidelines, combined with the building’s proximity to a major road, an airport and a well-established and generous shopping complex with associated car park, meant that the project presented some challenging internal noise requirements.

The BMU systems had to be designed to overhang municipality owned land along with access over the swimming pool deck.
