Felicity Shallcross Technical Director - Associate | Perth
Felicity has 35 years’ experience working in multi-disciplinary team environments in Perth, Sydney, Hong Kong, Jakarta and London. She specialises in the design and construction of roof and wall cladding systems, including curtain wall and glass assemblies. Her design experience has been supplemented by site-based positions monitoring cladding construction for large-scale commercial, residential, and public buildings, including four years working on site.
Felicity’s involvement with diagnostic and remedial facade consultancy has included experience with working safely at height from Building Maintenance Units (BMU’s) and Elevated Working Platforms (EWP’s), with inspections of steel, aluminium, stainless steel, glass, and stone, including report-writing and technical assessments. She has undertaken research and investigations into glass manufacturing techniques and defects, including inspecting production lines and processing specifications in the USA, Thailand, and China. Felicity has witnessed prototype testing of curtain walls and cladding, including fire, structural and weather performance testing, as well as site hose testing, and testing of gutter splices, sealants, and coatings.
Felicity’s architectural background has a focus in ecologically-responsible, environmentally-responsive and technically-creative building envelopes. With her experience working collaboratively with structural and building physics engineers, and her technical facade fabrication and weatherproofing knowledge, Felicity aims to bring a fresh application to the demands of designing, manufacturing and installing responsive, responsible and creative building skins.
