Eric Deng Associate, Melbourne
Having joined Inhabit as an engineer in 2011 after graduating at Monash University in Melbourne, Eric worked on a wide range of commercial and residential projects in Australia, from early concept design to detailed engineering of various façade systems, including curtain wall, skylight, steel structures and stone.
In 2014 he was seconded to the Galaxy Casino project in Macau for 10 months as a full-time site-based resident engineer, giving him invaluable insights into the challenges during construction and the importance of practicality in design and expanding his knowledge on materials procurement and system constructability.
Eric returned to the Melbourne office for two years before being seconded to Inhabit in London in 2017. The opportunity in the UK gained Eric experience working in a range of roles with a variety of clients along with detailed knowledge of European façade technologies which has prepared him well for the growing focus on building energy efficiency. His expertise in finite element modelling and advanced engineering enables him to optimise designs and realise material savings.
Some of Eric’s most prominent projects include:
. Arts West Redevelopment, Melbourne University, Australia
