Meet some of our Australian regional leaders
One of the pleasures of my role is working with talented and acknowledged industry leaders. I am pleased to introduce some of them to you here . Over the coming months, I look forward to catching up and introducing you in person.
Wayne Sanderson has recently joined Inhabit as Regional Director, Australia & New Zealand (AU/NZ), with a remit that includes overall responsibility for the region’s design and operational direction, assuming general responsibilities including design direction, leadership, management and strategy for our Australian and New Zealand offices.
Bringing a wealth of experience, as a registered architect in Victoria with more than 20 years experience, Wayne’s reputation is based on his specialisation in large-scale, transformative projects. His architectural career has centred on façade design, involving complex geometries and progressive thinking. With experience in Australia, Europe, the Middle East and China, his design-led approach influences each aspect of a project’s development.
Elissa Stirling’s role as Regional Manager – Victoria leads façade design and delivery across high-profile projects for the Melbourne office. With a formal background in architecture and construction management, Elissa uses her project management experience and astute commercial acumen in the areas of project design, coordination, contracting and client management to convey understanding to project teams throughout the design process.
Jason Gaekwad, Regional Manager – Building Physics & Sustainability, is responsible for the quality, delivery and growth of Inhabit’s Building Physics practice in Australasia. Jason brings extensive experience as a building physicist, leading teams and delivering projects across a range of buildings and infrastructure related fields. Part of this includes engineering design with a combination of performance modelling and on-site experimental experience.
Clare Parry is a Director and founder of Grün Consulting, a Passivhaus Designer and Building Certifier, a certified Passivehaus trainer, LEED and WELL AP, NABERS and Carbon Neutral Buildings Assessor. With a focus on building performance, Clare works extensively with the Passivhaus standard as a sustainability consultant and mechanical engineer. Grün specialises in delivering high performance buildings in Australia and internationally working in collaboration with project teams, providing guidance to ensure outcomes that focus on occupant health and wellbeing, comfort and operational performance. Clare’s team delivers all aspects of ESD consulting, specialising in Passive House (Passivhaus) from design through to certification.
Peter Buffett is Regional Design Leader – Australia & New Zealand, providing business development support across the region and leading our long-term professional development program for technical training. With a background in structural engineering, Peter has been involved in a wide variety of projects throughout Australia and internationally. This experience includes working with lead architects in early stage concept development, design development detailing and engineering, tender documentation and full construction phase works.
