Inhabit celebrates International Women’s Day

This week Inhabit teams around the world are celebrating International Women’s Day (Sunday, 8th March 2020) with a range of events. International Women’s Day (IWD) is held throughout the world to celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women.

It is also a day to highlight the progress the world has made towards gender equality and in creating a more gender inclusive world. The International Women’s Day theme for 2020 is “Each for Equal”.

“An equal world is an enabled world. Individually, we’re all responsible for our own thoughts and actions – all day, every day. We can actively choose to challenge stereotypes, fight bias, broaden perceptions, improve situations and celebrate women’s achievements. Collectively, each one of us can help create a gender equal world.” – IWD Foundation

In London the Inhabit team celebrated the day by wearing pink or purple (top left). In Australia Inhabit teams attended events organise by Engineers Australia to mark International Women’s Day. The Melbourne team is pictured (left) at an Engineers Australia lunch with CEO Tony Alvaro. Teams in other offices gathered for morning tea to celebrate the day.

At Inhabit our global gender workforce ratio is currently 31.4% female to 68.6% male. We are proud of our diverse and inclusive workplace as we encourage our staff to be themselves, support each other and each other’s aspirations. We recognise and are grateful for how diversity and inclusiveness bring different insights, discussions, ideas, perspectives and unique experiences to our workplace, creating more opportunities for success, together.
