Bruce spent the past decade building and leading one of the world’s foremost façade and BMU Engineering groups. In doing this he has drawn on over 27 years of Advanced Structural Engineering, Façade Consulting and Façade Engineering, BMU and Access System experience. He now mentors the Inhabit team, and provides high level project input on some of Inhabit Group’s most challenging projects, assists Project and Discipline leaders in managing each office, and has recently become both a LEED AP and GBCA AP, focused on creating innovative services to address global environmental challenges for building.

Tony Alvaro – Executive Director, Australia

Tony has recently joined Inhabit as Executive Director, bringing a depth of local and international experience to the Inhabit team. His 20 years of experience have been at the forefront of glass, remedial and curtain wall development in the façade industry. As an Architect, he has worked with façade fabricators, where he was able to extensively develop his expertise of curtain wall design and façade structures. He went on to design curtain walls on several prominent buildings in Melbourne, Hong Kong, PRC and the Middle East. In addition to management activities, he oversees many key projects and provides quality review and value design on others. During this period he has worked alongside several of the world’s leading consultants, from USA, Asia, Middle East and Australia. This has enabled him to develop extensive international experience.

Ron Bertoli – Executive Director, Asia

Over the past 23 years Ron has gained a diverse range of experience in engineering disciplines globally. These areas of experience consist primarily of Structural Engineering and Façade Engineering. Working with both international engineering consultants and contractors, Ron has developed a clear understanding of design and construction practices along with the interfacing requirements necessary to complete a project from concept to completion. His experience in structures, façades and interior fit-out allows him to provide solutions to problems that are both cost effective and paramount to successfully completing projects on time and within budget.

Robert Stephens – Executive Director, Middle East

Robert has been involved in the high-rise façade industry for over 15 years, with experience in the Far and Middle East. For the last 6 years Robert has been based in Dubai and has been heading up specialist façade teams in the region. Currently Robert is working on Central Market in Abu Dhabi and the Pentominium Dubai. Robert has a particular interest in warped façades, and with his team has developed techniques to understand and design complex geometry façades. These skills have been learned through involvement in projects such as Ocean Heights and Park Towers. Robert is a chartered structural engineer and a fellow of the Society of Façade Engineers. He sits on the committee and is actively involved with the formation of the Middle East and Africa division.

Dr. Chang Jian Shao – Director, Beijing

Dr. Shao is one of China’s most experienced specialist Façade Engineers. Over the past 15 years he has consulted on over 50 of China’s most prominent buildings. He has worked with world renowned Architects including SOM, KPF, Arquitectonica, and some of China’s most progressive architects including MAD, BIAD, CCDI, and IPPR. He has combined expertise in mechanical and structural engineering with a particular focus on façade systems, advanced thermal façade design, platform screen doors, double skin façades, and photovoltaics. Dr. Shao has contributed to education in China through research and has published over 10 articles in international journals.

Xue-Kun Qian – Director, Shanghai

Xue-Kun has more than 12 years experience in façade and civil engineering, working both in Chinese design institutes and international companies on high profile projects throughout China . Through this he has gained expertise in design and engineering of curtain walls and cladding systems, structural analysis of façade materials, design and analysis of tension structures, and curtain wall thermal analysis. Xue-Kun is familiar with both PRC and international building codes and is a member of the Shanghai Curtain Wall standards committee.

David Hunton – Technical Director, Melbourne

David has been involved in the façade industry for over 30 years. He pioneered the use of structural silicone glazing in Melbourne and Sydney during the early 1980′s. His experience has included involvement in major façade projects in Melbourne, London, Sydney, Hong Kong and Jakarta. He was involved in the foundation of CWCT in Bath, UK in 1990. From 1990, David led and grew a façade consultancy practice in Melbourne and continues to mentor staff and work closely with architects and contractors. David is a recognised leader in the façade industry within Australia.

Will MacDonald – Technical Director, London

Will has been involved for over 25 years in the curtain walling and roofing industry, working both in the United Kingdom and South Africa on high profile projects. He also has combined expertise in façade engineering and sustainable design. Will has worked on a wide range of projects including commercial, hospital, residential and educational developments and has recently completed 12 buildings on the 2012 Athletes’ Village site in Stratford for the Olympic Games. The Athletes’ Village is the first large mass housing project to achieve Code Level 4 for Sustainable Housing in England.

Hugh has combined expertise in Specialist Structural Engineering, Façade Engineering and BMU Engineering. Coupled with this he has worked on projects across Asia, Middle East and Australia, and together this provides a great depth of understanding projects in varying climates using different methods of construction. Hugh manages projects and is very hands on, he is able to address all aspects of design and construction, from advanced Finite Element computer modelling, to resolving construction issues on site.
